I am a portrait artist specialising particularly in child and family portraits.

My commissions are something to cherish forever. They are a snapshot in time; a memory of a lovely person, pet? home, your family or a wedding day.

Based in Scotland, I take my portrait commissions from all over the UK and abroad.

I like to visit my clients at home but I don’t necessarily require a series of sittings I work from photographs which customers send to me via email.

I have a special interest in painterly classic oil portraits. Although I also paint watercolours.
I aim to capture the likeness of the subject, I try to capture their personality and tell a story. 

 

Commissions of stately homes and interiors

I would need a few good photos to work from. I can visit to paint the interior scenes if required.

Once you decide that you want to proceed, you can book direct or, I take a nominal deposit of £250 to secure your studio time. For more prices and more information, see below.

 

 

How to commission

If you are ordering from a distance, I would like from you a few photos to work from which show different angles of your subject.

Ideally, I shall arrange to come to you and have you sit for your portrait in your own setting. This will take about 3-4 hours with breaks and I compete the painting in my studio. Alternatively I shall visit you to take my own reference photos where possible.

Your portrait painting will be completed within 4 weeks. I work in pastel, watercolour or oil paints. You will have the option of the choice of medium on ordered. If you have ordered an oil painting , please allow 6 weeks for the drying process .
